Guest Speaker: Mr Qamar Uddin will be presenting "Astronomy of Islamic Calendar", which covers the history of lunar calendars from 45 BC to the present.
Free entry for members of the society.
£3 on the door for non-members.
SARAS will be in Dalby Forest on Sunday 5th July 2026 - 10.30 am to 4.00 pm as a part of Dalbyology.
The theme of the event this year is ‘Survivors - Take a look at some of natures super survivors that overcome adversity and enrich our world.
SARAS will be set up outside our observatories with information on the society, how astronomy relates to the theme and all being well, the Sun will be shining to allow some solar observing.
In addition to SARAS at the domes, many other national and local organisations will be setup on the field behind the Dalby Forest Visitor Centre.
