SARAS at Ayton Gala 2018

S&RAS were present at Ayton Gala again this year and we drew in quite a lot of people
Thanks to John Harper, Sheila Anderson, Jon Mortimer and Neil Graham for their assistance.

The weather was kind and allowed solar viewing, but once again, the surface of the sun was featureless when viewed in white light and only faint
surface detail was visible in hydrogen-Alpha due to the continuing low activity on the surface of the Sun.

With the help of John Harper, we were able to locate Venus without the aid of Go-To and were able to let the public view the crescent of Venus at 3 in the afternoon.
