Scarborough is hosting a fossil festival for the first ever time.  Taking place in and around the Rotunda museum, the Friday is a day for local schools and the Saturday and Sunday for members of the public.

Organised by Scarborough Museums Trust in partnership with The Palaeontological Association, the weekend will include guest speakers, guided walks and exhibitions by universities, geology departments of museums and many other organisations.

SARAS will be in attendance along with solar telescopes and information on the Solar System and its planets, asteroids etc. along with a fantastic meteorite specimen kindly loaned by Hidden Horizons.

More details on the weekend can be found on the Yorkshire Fossil Festival website.
